By Jørgen Avdal, Ingvild Kinn Ekroll, Hans Torp and Anne E.C.M. Saris

FLUST (Flow Line based Ultrasound Simulation Tool) is a framework for generation of multiple realizations of ultrasound signals from stationary flow fields at a low computational cost. The framework includes a database of customizable transducer geometries, acquisition setups, in silico flow phantoms and estimators, as well as tools for visualization, integrity analysis and performance assessment. The flow-line based technique was first introduced in “Fast Flow-Line-Based Analysis of Ultrasound Spectral and Vector Velocity Estimators”. Conversion from a promising technique to functional and user-friendly software, including automated methods for ensuring the integrity of signals, is described in a second paper, which is currently in the review process. The FLUST framework has been developed by Jørgen Avdal, Ingvild Kinn Ekroll and Hans Torp at The Norwegian University of Science and Technology, and Anne E.C.M. Saris at Radboud University Medical Center.
